Roots & Faith — A Self-published Chapbook
Published December 2024
Authored and produced Roots and Faith, a poetry chapbook exploring identity, ethnicity, religion, and cultural belonging. Through drafting, revision, and critical feedback, I refined the collection’s language, structure, and consistency. I also oversaw its production as a finished print publication, gaining hands-on experience in the relationship between creative writing, book design, and reader experience.

"The mud under my boots makes a squishing sound as Bella and I make our way through the forest. I had hoped the rain would clear in a few minutes, but it shows no sign of disappearing anytime soon. I had offered to cancel training and head back to the palace for Bella’s sake but she chose to continue our hike."

"I jolt awake by the sound of branches hitting the treehouse. I look around me and it takes me a while to remember where I am. The sun had already found its way through cracks of the door and window. By the looks of it, it has to have been past noon and the realization of me being late to my own wedding hits me."

Wet earth squished beneath our feet as Bella and I headed toward the woodline. The clouds roiled overhead as rain fell in sheets. Despite my consistent attempts to convince her to cancel training for the day, Bella had insisted on going to the forest anyway.

My brows furrow as I struggle to remember where I fell asleep. Then, all at once, the realization hits me: I’m going to be late to my own wedding.
Master Class Publishing Project:
InKspire Press
Co-founded and operated a student publishing press within a four-person team.
Contributed to the development and operation of InKspire Press, an independent publishing initiative dedicated to diverse and underrepresented voices. Participated in manuscript assessments, acquisition decisions, and editorial development while creating publishing materials, including author contracts, tip sheets, and marketing and publicity plans. Gained practical experience in publishing workflows, collaborative project management, and positioning titles for the market.
Independent Publishing Project: Imagine Press
FOUNDED AND OPERATED A STUDENT RUN PRESS
Developed Imagine Press, a fantasy publishing imprint focused on immersive storytelling and imaginative world-building. Participated in manuscript evaluation and acquisition decisions while developing publishing assets, including cover designs and a curated seasonal catalogue. Gained practical experience in imprint branding, audience positioning, and shaping a publishing strategy around a defined readership and genre.

Served on the management team for a multi-author anthology, coordinating production timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional workflows across editorial, production, and promotions. Liaised with printers to assess specifications, timelines, and print quality while conducting comprehensive copy edits of the manuscript. Led author interviews for digital content and contributed to launch event planning, supporting the project’s successful progression from manuscript to publication.
